Intensive Workshop: Break Into Freelance Writing
Additional Fee Required

Making a living as a freelance writer is challenging, but not impossible. It’s also rewarding for those of us who want to tell the kinds of stories that we feel aren’t being told. Join veteran freelancer Megy Karydes (T+L, Chicago Tribune) and learn:

    •    Identifying Story Ideas That Sell
    •    Writing Pitches
    •    Identifying Possible Outlets to Pitch & Finding the Right Editors to Pitch
    •    Networking & Maintaining Relationships

Come prepared with the names of publications you’d like to pitch and story ideas to workshop. You’ll learn ways to move your idea from a topic to a story, how to tighten your story pitch for your dream outlet, how to find the right editor and how to follow-up.

This is a hands-on workshop. Attendance is limited to 10 writers.
